Ship building offshore wind farm

Le Havre, France

This ship, called a jack-up ship due to the integral legs that can be used to lift it out of the water, then becomes a stable platform with a crane to assemble the parts of the windmills on the bases fixed to the seabed. Offshore wind farms are a relatively benign method to generate the electricity we need, but they will also require the creation of a “smart grid” to get their intermittent power to the places its needed.
